12/24/2023 0 Comments Desmos graphing pictures![]() Go ahead and hit yes to that and what that does, it lets you interact by dragging the slider around and you can see the line for different values of m. When you introduce a variable like mx, it'll ask you if you want to add a slider. It is the way to measure how the line is changing. One of the really nice things again, even your calculator can do this, but what is the really nice thing that I like about Desmos? I explained before that the slope of a line, which we usually denote as M is the rise over the run. So let's clear those by clicking the X button and let's start again. This is a really nice tool to get numbers pretty quickly and you can make some pretty professional graphs if you just screenshots and play around with them. If you want the actual coordinates, just click on them and you can see those. You might want to know some intercepts and they're already sort of called out for you. So all you have to do is click on the gray circle and it's there. You can see that Desmos is already kind of thinking ahead and saying, well you might want to know where the graphs intersect. Things start to get interesting sometimes where they meet. So for example, if you want to graph y=negative 4x+3, why not? I'm just making up numbers, but it will also graph the second line. What's really nice about these things as well is that you can graft more than one line. Feel free to zoom out or zoom in as you need and you can start to see this graph. ![]() As you type, you don't even have to hit Enter the graph, the line starts to appear. You can just start typing on the left side, something like y=2x. And just to graph to a couple of equations that we've seen. Now there's a settings bar up here if you want, you can play around with the different settings that are there, but the standard one is usually pretty fine. This is where you're going to enter your equations and the graph will appear on the right. And you're going to get a very nice sort of screen on the left. Once you get there, let's click the button that says, let's start graphing. Now take a second, pause the video and head over to that site. I'm going to show you how to graph lines using a website that I really like is called,.
